Reidsville: Boyd Marion Tate, 71, of 640 Camp Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Hodges officiating and the burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Tate was born in Caswell County to the late Boyd and Lillian Chilton Tate. He was retired from North Carolina Natural Gas Company with over 30 years of service. He was a charter member, deacon and Sunday school teacher of Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted disciple and servant of Jesus and always lived by the rule of God first, family second, everyone else next and self, always last. His word was golden! Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Diane Smith Tate.
Mr. Tate is survived by his sons, Ken Tate and wife, Sandra of Holly Springs, NC and Kevin Tate and wife, Misty of the home; his grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler and Conner Tate; brother, Harold Tate and wife, Peggy of Reidsville and numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6-8:00 PM and other times at the home.
