Brenda Goode Crane

Brenda Goode Crane, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Virgilina Cemetery in Virgilina, Virginia at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00am at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Brenda was born on Christmas Day in 1942 to the late David and Edith Goode in Danville, VA. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Eden, NC and was known for her love of cooking for her family and friends. Brenda had a warm heart, welcoming personality, and never spoke a bad word against anyone. She was faithful to her family and to her church, even in the midst of her declining health. She always put other’s needs before her own. She was young at heart and enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brenda loved everyone, especially her family, but more than anything she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Pastor James “Jim” William Norman; siblings, James Goode and Annie Cook.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Kenny Crane; son, Pete Hutchens and wife Carrie; daughter-in-law, Susan Norman; grandchildren, Justin Norman, Matthew Norman and wife Danielle, Patrick Hutchens, Payton Hutchens; great-grandchildren, Landon Norman, Carson Norman and Zachary Norman; her sister, Betty Crowder; and her beloved cat, Sweet Pea.
