Brenda Mundy Lumpkins

Ruffin - Brenda Mundy Lumpkins, 61, of 633 Guerrant Springs Road, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2012 at Mayfield Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery following the service.Mrs. Lumpkins was a native of Rockingham County and was born to Thelma Kennon Meade and the late Junior Elwood Mundy. Brenda was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Mayfield Baptist Church where she was very active in directing Vacation Bible School and Christmas plays. She was a devoted wife that loved her family deeply. Brenda was a hairdresser for over 21 years where she met and made a lot of her friends. Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Robert "Skip" Lumpkins of the home; daughter, Connie Strader and husband, Jeff of Ruffin; grandchildren, Brianna and Ethan Strader; mother, Thelma Meade; brother, Lawrence Mundy and wife, Lynn of VA; sisters, Lois Wilson and husband, Allen of Ruffin and Melissa Smith and husband, Jimmy of Eden; special friend, Gwen Jeffries and beloved dog, Liz.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home of daughter, Connie, 680 Guerrant Springs Road.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Brenda's honor to Mayfield Baptist Church Building Fund 8936 NC Hwy 700, Ruffin NC.
