Buck C. Champion

Reidsville- Mr. Buck C. Champion, 67, of Reidsville passed away on Sunday, October 6th, 2013 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. He was born in Guilford County on June 5th, 1946 to the late Pritchard and Frances Minor Champion. A lifelong native of Rockingham County he was a retiree of Cone Mills. Buck was a well rounded person. He loved anything outdoors, spending time with his family and especially his gamecocks. He was predeceased by his son, Vance Weaver Champion and his daughter, Patty Pearman Survivors include his wife Shirley Champion of the home; one son, Allen Champion of Greensboro; one daughter, Cathy Champion and partner, Marie Golden of Greensboro; grandchildren, Tiffani Russ and husband J.C. Russ; Brett Champion; Preston Golden-Champion.; brothers: Richard Champion and wife Gladys of Greensboro; Rex Champion and wife, Carolyn of Reidsville; sisters,Geneva Poole and husband, Jay of Greensboro and Geraldine (Boots) Dunn of Reidsville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2013 at two o’clock in Wilkerson Funeral Home. Reverend Jonathan Marlowe will officiate. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from six until eight o’clock in Wilkerson Funeral Home.
