Madison–
Burton “Red” Sylvester Holland, 69, of 1695 Smothers Road, died Saturday,
October 25, 2008, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
Graveside
services will be held on Tuesday,
October 28, 2008, at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Bowles officiating.
Mr.
Holland was a native of Rockingham County and was born to George Holland and Minnie Corum Holland. He was retired from The
American Tobacco Company with over 26 years of service. He was saved on October 11, 2008 while he was a patient at the hospital. In addition to his
father, he was preceded in death of his wife, Ruby Isley Holland; sons, George
Randy Holland and John Wayne Holland; brother, George Sonny Holland; and
grandson, Brian Todd Holland.
He
is survived by his sons, Michael Todd Holland and James Scott Holland, both of the residence and Terry Lee Holland
of Eden; daughter, Rebecca Lynn Holland of Stoneville; seven grandchildren;
mother, Minnie Corum Holland of the home; brother, Frankie “Tink” Holland
of Reidsville and sister, Barbara Jean
Hall of Madison.
The
family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, October 27,
2008 from 7 to 9 PM and other times at the residence.
