Reidsville: Calvin “Jr” Hendrix Cook, Jr., 64, of 2051 Ashley Loop Road, died Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Wilkerson Funeral Home at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Mr. Cook, a native of Rockingham County, was born to the late Calvin Hendrix Cook, Sr. and Rev. Nellie Mae Moore Cook. He retired from Fire Protection and was a pipefitter for over 42 years. Jr. was a member of The Church of the Living God and loved his grandchildren very much. Mr. Cook was involved in racing as a driver and late model stock car owner for over 46 years.. He won the 2006 and 2008 Craftsman Crew Chief Award. In addition of his parents, he was preceded death by his son, Dion Cook and sisters, Shirley Caulder and Jewette Finney. Jr. is survived by his wife, Mary Moore Cook, of the residence; sons, Calvin Cook, III and wife, Wendy of Reidsville and Rodney Cook and wife, Nicole also of Reidsville; daughters, Pam Wilson and husband, Devin of Eden and June Dunn and husband, Shawn of Reidsville; grandchildren, Christy Cook, Sarah Cook, Kimberlyn Cook, Noah Wilson, Caleb Wilson, Brittney Dunn and Dylan Dunn and sister, Maready Hundley of Kernersville. The family will received friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. and other times at the residence.
