Calvin Cahill Myers

Reidsville - Calvin Cahill Myers, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Danville Regional Hospital.A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at New Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Venable officiating. Interment will follow the service in Dan View Cemetery with full military rites preformed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard. Mr. Myers was born on March 24, 1926 in Rockingham County to the late William M. and Myrtle Gammon Myers. Calvin served in the United States Air Force as an Aerial Gunner. He was a faithful member of New Heights Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowship whenever the doors were open. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James and Paul Myers. Mr. Myers is survived by his beloved wife, Mildred Draughn Myers of the home; brother, Charles Hubert Myers of Ruffin; sister, Dorothy Myers Hall and husband, Bill of Vinton, VA and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6 - 8 pm on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Calvin Myers' honor to either American Heart Association, 202 Centreport Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27409 or the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank the staff of The Brian Center of Yanceyville for the kind care they showed toward Calvin during his stay.
