Brown Summit: Calvin TenEyck Sigler, Sr., 82, of 1903 John Glenn Drive, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Center United Methodist Church in Summerfield with Rev. Cecil Donahue officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
Cal was born May 2, 1934 in Guilford Center, New York and graduated from Bethlehem Central High School, Delmar, New York in 1951. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1953-1955 as a proud MP during the Korean Conflict. He was a machine gun specialist. He married Gail Ann Hinz in 1957, worked at GE in Schenectady, NY for 5 years and Behr Manning, Norton, Saint-Gobain for 38 years. He was a former member of Water of Life Lutheran Church in Wilmington, NC and presently a member of Center UMC in Summerfield. Cal enjoyed volunteering for Senior Resources through Center Church for 6 years and did whatever he was called upon to do. Cal was preceded in death by his parents, E. J. Sigler, Sr. and Esther Moreau Sigler; brother, John Sigler; nephew, Russell Edward Sigler and most recently his great-great grandnephew, 3 year old, Jack Guffin.
Cal is survived by his wife Gail of the home; his adored children, Leslyn Louise Staley and Calvin Sigler, Jr.; grandson, Nicholas Ryan Staley; granddaughter, Lindsey James Sigler; niece, Victoria Stenberg and husband, Dave; two loved great nieces and great nephew, Kori, Stephanie and Chris; great-great nieces, Ella and Emma.
The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
