Caren Crumpton Walker

Reidsville: Mrs. Caren Crumpton Walker of Reidsville passed away on Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Walker was born March 18th, 1937 in Rockingham County to the late Witcher and Ruby Apple Crumpton. She was retired from the Rockingham County School System and was member of First Presbyterian Church. Wren was much loved by her family and friends. She was known as a very elegant lady and a fabulous country cook and she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her brother, Reuben “Shine” Crumpton. Wren is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Gene Walker of the home; one son: Steve Walker and wife Nina of Wilmington; one daughter: Sherri G. Walker of Reidsville; three grandchildren: John Michael Harris, Christoffer Walker and Alexander Walker; one sister: Nancy Eagle of Burlington. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock on Friday, August 15th, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Doug McLeroy officiating. Interment will follow in the Apple-Nunn Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from six until eight o’clock at Wilkerson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 318 S.
