Carl Wayne Garrison

Carl Wayne Garrison, 80, of Lexington, NC and formerly of Bethany passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 following a brief illness at Forsyth Medical Center. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Sharon Baptist Church of Reidsville, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. Carl was born in Rockingham county to the late Henry and Allene Garrison and attended Bethany School with graduation in 1956. He married Ruth Middleton Garrison in 1958. He served in the US Navy onboard the USS Kearsarge and in other capacities from 1956 to 1960. Carl was a longtime Trustee and a member of the presidential board of advisors at Campbell University. He was a pilot and salesman until his death on September 28, 2018. Carl is survived by two children and a daughter-in-law, Carla Garrison Harper and Josh Garrison (Joey); grandchildren, the true loves of his life, Maggie Harper and Jensen Garrison; brother, Jerry Garrison (Sandy); sisters, Carolyn Fuquay and Susan Reid; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
