-- View a Video -- Carlton Philmore Daniel, Sr. Summerfield – Carlton Philmore Daniel, Sr., 70, of 1328 Brown Rd., passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, October, 29, 2014, at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Harris officiating. Visitation for family and friends will follow the memorial service and other times the family will be at 1328 Brown Rd. Carlton was born on October 16, 1944, in Roanoke Rapids, NC, to the late Gordon Philmore and Sarah Lillie Hopkins Daniel. He married Donna Mize on June 28, 2005, in Florence, Mississippi. He worked for Raco Inc. Carlton loved to fish and go camping. He loved to work also. He really loved westerns and country music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Milton Daniel, his sisters, Clara Lynch and Fran Clark, his brother-in-law, Jerry Lynch; two nephews, Charlie Saunders and Gary Giramontti and a niece, Angela Graham. He is survived by his wife, Donna Mize Daniel; his sons, Carlton Philmore Daniel, Jr. and wife Nicky and J.D. Daniel and wife Penny; his daughter, Melissa Meadows and husband Chris; brother, Kenny Daniel and wife Carolyn; sisters, Pauline Saunders, Joan Graham and Edna Combs; brother-in-law, Dan Clark; his father and mother in law, Phillip and Estelle Comer; numerous nieces and nephews; Susie McCormick and her children Blake and Jessie who he helped raise, and his canine companion lady; his grandchildren, Logan Daniel, Katelyn Daniel, Jack Daniel, Courtney Daniel, Bo Daniel, Donna Odom and Casey Odom and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
