Carlton Thomas Haley

Reidsville: Carlton Thomas Haley, Sr., 85, of 155 Tall Timber Lane, died on Sunday May 3, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. C. Stephen Blair officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Haley was born in Pittsylvania County, VA to the late Grover C. Haley and Blanche Davis Haley. He was a retired insurance agent with Home Beneficial and a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, The DAV Chapter 63, where he was a volunteer adjutant and a treasurer for many years. He volunteered to transport veterans to the VA Hospital for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Danny Haley; brother, Henry Haley/ mother of his children, Ruth C. Haley and later, Juanita S. Haley. He is survived by his sons, Tom Haley and wife, Carolyn, Julian B. Haley, and Raymond F. Haley and wife, Shannon, all of Reidsville; daughter, Juanita H. Church and husband, Bobby of Eden; grandchildren, Bruce Thornton, Lisa Hill, Tracy Crowder, Ray, Mary Beth and Sandy Haley.; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Eldridge Haley and wife, Ruby of Danville, VA; sisters, Clara H. Burnette and Lottie Ford, both of Danville, VA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 138 Aldergate Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320
