It is with deep sadness that the family of Carol Hook Rebb announces her passing on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the age of 67. She was born to the late Edward Burgess Hook and Ann Eastman Hook in Alanta, GA on November 13,1949. Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother , and friend who always put others before herself. She had a tremendous affection for animals and was known to rescue many throughout her life. One of her greatest loves were her horses, where she found comfort and joy. Carol was known to many as an extremely giving, wise, compassionate, and courageous woman. “My mother taught me, through her actions, to treat all living things with love and respect,” said her daughter, Catherine Packard. Carol will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, George Rebb; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and John Packard; sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Ray Byram; grandchildren, Sam, Abbey, Olivia, Lanie, and Jay. A memorial service celebrating Carol’s life will take place at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24th at 2:00 PM. A releasing of doves in her memory will take place at 2:45 PM Memorial donations in memory of Carol can be made to Bit O’Luck Equine Rescue, a registered 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Corporation in Huntersville, North Carolina. Please send any donations to Catherine Packard, 18920 Cypress Garden Drive, Davidson, NC 28036. Donations will then be presented to the organization in Carol’s honor.
