Carrie Rice Barbee

Carrie Rice Barbee, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at her home in Gibsonville.

A native of Caswell County, Carrie was born on March 1, 1942, to the late Dudley Lester Rice and Nannie Lou Walker Adams. She was a member of the Pleasant View Assembly of God in Reidsville, loved flowers, gardening, enjoyed taking care of the flowers at the church and was an avid seamstress.  She retired from Burlington Industries Williamsburg Plant after 35 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Barbee; son-in-law, Victor Perkins; Siblings, John “Buck” Adams, Lee Adams, Margie Roark, Esther Landrum, and Mary Smith.

Carrie is survived by her daughters, Robin Rice Perkins and Tracy Rice Brooks (Rodney);   Six grandchildren; Kristy Kivett Pickard (Jay), Cody Perkins, Lucas Perkins, Tyler Brooks, Sydney Brooks, and Elizabeth Brooks;  Four great-grandchildren, Shayne Pickard, Mayci Pickard, Jordyn Brooks, and Cheyenne Brooks; and her brothers, Louis Adams and William Hawkins (Polly).

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Pleasant View Assembly of God Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00PM.
