Catherine "Kathy" Page Conte

Reidsville: Catherine “Kathy” Page Conte, 67, of 815 McCoy Road, died on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Funeral services will be held at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jim Liston officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 6-8 PM, at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Kathy was born on January 15, 1948, in Rockingham County to the late Robert Edward and Mildred Perkins Page. She grew up in the Williamsburg Community. She graduated from Reidsville High School and attended East Carolina University. She worked for Burlington Industries, Rockingham Community College and Adams Electric Company. In her spare time, she enjoyed writing and won several awards in the Rockingham County Arts Festival. Along with her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Conte Jessie in 2006. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Philip Conte, retired Professor in English at Rockingham Community College; grandson, Zachary Jessie; granddaughters, Devin Jessie and Arabella Jessie, all of Winterville, NC; brother, Lindsey Shumate of Swepsonville, NC; sister-in-law, Ella Shumate; her beloved cat, Poe, and extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham Community College Foundation in memory of Kathy, P.O. Box 38, Wentworth, NC 27375.
