Catherine Ford Walker

Reidsville– Catherine Ford Walker, 90, of 3830 NC Hwy 150, died Friday, November 20, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 23, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gaylord Dix and Rev. Sean Vernon officiating. The burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Walker was born in Rockingham County to the late William and Maggie Cole Ford. She was formerly employed with Chase Bag Company. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and currently a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a diligent homemaker and provider, consistently and affectionately making their house a home. She loved flowers, especially dahlias, roses and azaleas. Married over 58 years, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Walker. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Ford and sister, Inez Donovan. Mrs. Walker is survived by her children, Philip Walker and wife Carolyn of Reidsville, Alan Walker and wife, Olene of Reidsville, Peggy Hill and husband, Jim of Summerfield, Linda Lovelace and husband, Lofton of Reidsville, David Walker of Yanceyville and Terry Walker and wife, Dianne of Yanceyville; her grandchildren, Jan Macey, Susan Walker, Kim Walker Ross, Derrick Walker, Scarlett Horton, Tonya Hill, Jamey Walker, Larry Walker, Tyler Walker, Sean Vernon, Sherry Vernon, Wendy Andrews and Misti Walker and 22 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home Sunday, November 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and other times at her residence. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the neighbors and the Trinity Baptist Church family for the care and support during this difficult time.
