Cecil Cameron Allen

Reidsville – Cecil Cameron Allen, 58, of 234 Rock Spring Drive, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Rockingham County Hospice Home.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, June 4, 2010 at East Side Baptist Church, 1859 Barnes Street, Reidsville with Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Durham at 2:00 PM with Cam’s cousin, Rev. Carol S. Dyson officiating. Pallbearers will be Van Ellis, Randy Perry, Mike Massey, John Rigsbee, Gary Myers and Wesley Wirt. Cam was born in Durham County to the late Cecil T. and Nellie Ruth Poe Allen. He attended Durham County Schools and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church and was employed with The American Tobacco Company for twenty years and Lorillard Tobacco Company for fifteen years. Survivors include his sister, Bonnie Allen Webster and husband, A.C. of Surf City; uncle, Willard Laws of Raleigh; very special friends, The Jack Downey Family of Durham and The Wirt Family of Bassett, Va. and John Rigsbee of St. Petersburg, Florida; godchildren, Kelsie and Kaleb Moore children of Toby and Angie Moore of Dry Fork, Va.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at East Side Baptist Church and other times at the residence.Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Baptist Church, PO Box 362 Reidsville, North Carolina 27320 or Hospice of Rockingham County PO Box 281, Wentworth, North Carolina 27375.
