Cecil Ray Apple

Reidsville- Cecil Ray Apple of 2312 Woodland Drive passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Reidlawn Cemetery. Mr. Apple was born on March 23, 1927 in Rockingham County to the late James Pressley and Myrtle Pritchett Apple. Cecil served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his military service he was employed by the Western Electric Company as an Engineer until his retirement. He was a member of the Pioneer Club and a member of the former Reidsville Antique Engine Club. Cecil enjoyed attending auctions. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernon Apple and Worth Apple and his sister, Millie Moore.Cecil is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Griffin Apple of the home; brother, Maurice Apple and wife Doris of Trinity, NC; sister, Opal Apple of Greensboro; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and his special friends at Foster's Grill.The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
