Reidsville- Charles Baxter “CB” Williams, 91, of 1884 NC Hwy 29 Business, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at his home.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Billy Martin officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home before going to the cemetery for the service. Also the family will be receiving friends at the home.
Mr. Williams was a native of Rockingham County and was the son of the late Robert Pinkney and Pearl Hurd Williams. He was longtime member of College Park Baptist Church and was retired from the American Tobacco Company with over 37 years of service. Mr. Williams was an avid sportsman and an accomplished golfer. His golfing accolades include close to 100 tournament championships. He was the NC and SC Left Hand Champion 4 times, the ATC Golf Tournament champion 17 years in a row and the Monroeton Golf Tournament champion 16 years in a row. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend.
Along with his parents, Mr.Williams was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Joyner; sister, Ruby Harrison; brothers, Ted Williams, Howard Williams and Thomas Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Somers Williams of the home; children, Judy Ware, Don Williams and wife, Vickie, Carol Bibee and husband, Doug and Mike Foulks all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Randy Hildebrandt and wife, Vickie, Chris Hildebrandt, Amy Martin and husband, Mark, Jill Wilson and husband, Randy, Craig Williams and wife, Angela, Heather Fellows, Crystal Beal and Courtney Bibee; great grandchildren, Shawna, Brandon, Jeremy, Daniel, Erica, Landon, Jacob, Holly, Gracie and Katie; great great grandchildren, Chase, Cody, Braxton, McKenzie, Brooklyn, Kayden, Luke and Aleigha; sisters, Shirley Harris and husband, Pete, Mary Lee Miller, Joy Ann Lamberth and husband, Paul all of Reidsville; brother, George Williams of Reidsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
