Brown Summit: Charles Golden Chrismon – 85, of 5744 Chrismon Road, Brown Summit, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church 12:00 PM with Rev. Allen Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Chrismon was a native of Guilford County and was the son of the late Ira and Myrtle W. Chrismon. He retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. Golden was of the Christian faith and a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church. He enjoyed singing, playing the harmonica, riding his tractor and telling jokes. Golden loved his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby Howerton Chrismon; brothers, Jake, Jessie, Lloyd, and Pete Chrismon and sisters, Thelma Whitsel and Fleta Coltrane. He is survived by his children, Rodney Chrismon and wife, Roberta and Ricky Chrismon and wife, Pat all of Brown Summit; grandchildren, Tonya, Megan, Ryan, Crystal and April; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Chrismon and wife, Dot of Brown Summit and Donnie Chrismon and wife, Tinnie of Brown Summit. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and other times at the home of son, Ricky, 5746 Chrismon Road, Brown Summit. Memorial contributions may be made in Golden’s honor to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers and a special thank you to nurses, Sherri and Pam.
