Charles Ray Gauldin

Pelham- Charles Ray Gauldin, age 59, of 8579 Old U.S. 29, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Winston/Salem, N.C. He had been a patient there about one month. Charles was born on August 21, 1951 , the son of the late Luther Odell Gauldin and the late Estelle Poindexter Gauldin Hamlett. He was the grandson of the late Jessie and Minnie Gauldin and the late Roy and Nora Poindexter. Charles was an avid Washington Redskins and Duke basketball fan. He was retired from Dan River Inc. with over 30 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M., Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Kent and Rev. Avery Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery. He is survived by one brother, Jerry Hamlett of Danville, Va., one niece, Beth Hamlett of Greensboro, NC and one nephew, Nathan Hamlett, one special aunt, Adell Poindexter of the home and a number of other aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
