Charlie C. "Al" Short

Thomasville, NC – C. Allen “Al” Short, 42, of 226 Christopher Lane, Lot 38 died Thursday, April 23 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Smyrna Grove Community Church, 1175 Back Creek Church Road, Asheboro, NC with Rev. Danny Graham officiating. The burial and graveside service will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery in Reidsville, NC as it was Al’s wish to be close to his mother. Al was born in Richlands, VA and was employed with Contab, Inc. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Short and his brother, Tommy Dye. Leaving behind his wife, Rose Lewis, son, Jacob, daughter, Shiann of the home and daughter Ashley and former wife, Dana Short of Archdale; father, Charlie Short of Denton; brothers, Dale Dye who is currently serving his second tour of duty in Iraq and wife, Tina of Richmond, VA and Jeff Short and wife, LouAnn of Reidsville; sisters, Wanda Carpenter of Thomasville, Wanda Sue Carter of High Point, Charlene King and husband, Ernie of Thomasville, Michelle Kirk and husband, Paul of Trinity and Jessica Blair and husband, Larry of Silver Valley as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 25 from 6 – 8:00 PM at the home of Michelle and Paul Kirk (9205 Archdale Road, Trinity, NC) In consideration of the Short family, memorial contributions may be made to Wilkerson Funeral Home on their behalf.
