Charlotte Rich Benfield

Reidsville: Charlotte Rich Benfield, 74, of Avante of Reidsville, died on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Milton Kennon and Rev. Sandy Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be Keith and Scott Benfield, Chase Benfield, Jack and Brandon Cannon, Justin Manley, Ryan Benfield and Josh Benfield. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery Charlotte was born in Rockingham County to the late Rufus A. “Sug” and Doris Aldred Rich and was one of the first set of identical triplets to survive at Annie Penn Hospital. She was a homemaker and addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Odell Benfield; sister, Carolyn Apple and granddaughter, Krystal Cannon. Survivors include her children, Daryl Benfield and wife, Cathy, Gary Benfield and wife, Carrie, Penny Cannon and special friend, Mark Pruitt and Melissa Manley and husband, Ernest; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Bud and Gordon Rich; sisters, Connie Lee and Mary Lib Burton. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the home of Penny Cannon, 119 Coventry Court, Reidsville.
