Chester Joseph Tolbert

Reidsville: Chester Joseph Tolbert, 80, of Reidsville, passed away on February 23, 2016 at his home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2 PM at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Walter Daves and Mr. Randy Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Chester was a devoted family man, a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and he served many years in prison ministries. He was the owner and operator of Tolbert Wallpaper and was respected around the Rockingham County area for his craftsmanship, his attention to detail and his ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Mr. Tolbert was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Gates Tolbert; his daughter, Teresa Tolbert and nine siblings. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Griggs of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Jesse, Tia and Nicole; great grandchildren, Millie and Maria; and one great-great grandchild, Sapphire.
