Clara Turner Dodson

Ruffin - Clara Turner Dodson, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Morehead Nursing Center.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Hickory Grove United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Lee Eggers officiating. A visitation will follow the church fellowship hall.Mrs. Clara was born on May 29, 1918 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Lawson and Georgiana Hardy Turner. She retired from Health Tex Inc. in Danville, Va. Clara was a longtime and faithful member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church who was a strong Christian and very active in the church. She was well liked by her friends and she loved to cook and also loved her flowers. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin C. Dodson, five sisters and two brothers.She is survived by her brother, Harvey Turner who loved her and took good care of her after Melvin's passing, she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
