Summerfield: Clara Eva Pearman Collins, 91, passed away into the arms of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior and best friend on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Raines and her son, Rev. Gerald Collins officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at Judy and Bill’s home, (968 Witty Road). Clara was born October 22, 1921 to the late Calvin and Bettie Lee Middleton Pearman. After many years of service, she was retired from Blue Bell at Stokesdale. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She also served in various other positions in the church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Woodrow Collins; her brothers, Aubrey, Paul, Carl (infant), Andrew “Cleo”, Newton and Calvin Pearman; her sisters, Odie Pearman, Cordie Jennings, Lula Lovette and Lavenia (infant). Mrs. Collins is survived by her son, Gerald Collins and wife, Brenda of Graham; her daughters, Judy Rakestraw and husband, Bill of Summerfield and Dollie Sue Durham and husband, Larry of Reidsville and; her sister, Jean Pearman of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church, 316 Witty Rd, Summerfield, NC 27358.
