Ruffin: Mr. Clarence Willard “Red” Manley, 88, of 1067 Ashland Rd., Ruffin, passed away on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.
Mr. Manley was born on April 4th, 1926 to Lawrence F. and Minnie Lynn Manley. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a police officer for Reidsville Police Dept. for 13 years. Red loved to cook. He was a chef for over 25 years. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Manley; his sons, Steve Manley and wife Debra and Gary Manley; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Wayne Manley.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 11:00 A.M., at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 1, 2015, from 6-8 P.M., at the funeral home and other times at the home.
