Claude Edison Hudson

Claude Edison Hudson, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Sharon Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Claude was born in Rockingham County to the late Thomas Knight Hudson and Patty Miller Hudson. He was a member of Browns Summit Baptist Church. He loved to work outside, whether in the yard, in the garden or tinkering with all kinds of machinery. Claude was a devoted husband, father and friend. He loved his family unconditionally, and was marked by a willingness to sacrifice of himself to do anything for them, anywhere, anytime. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Lawrence Hudson, Kathleen Roberts, Mary Frances Durham, John “Buck” Hudson, Emory Hudson, and Fred Hudson. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Frances Shelton Hudson; son, Rick Hudson (Peggy); granddaughters, Candice and Caroline Hudson; brothers, Phillip Hudson (Margie), Jerry Hudson (Carolyn) and Herbert Hudson as well as a large extended family.
