Claude Lipford

Claude Daniel Lipford, 84, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2020 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Happy Home Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce McBride Officiating. Claude was born to the late James Lee Lipford and Mamie Gatewood Lipford in Rockingham County. He worked as a plumber and electrician in the area for over 40 years. He loved to split wood, old wood stoves and spending time in the old school building on his property. Many have shared in the bounty from his garden and heard his stories while visiting the old school. Most of all he loved his family; he will be greatly missed. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn Hines Lipford and granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Walker. He is survived by his sons, Terry Allen Lipford (Robyn Catlett), Kelly Lynn Lipford (Tara Lipford); daughter, Kimberly Lipford Walker (Gary Allen); grandchildren, Matthew Swartzlander (Cicely Swartzlander), Michael Lipford (Magen Cox), Maxwell Lipford and Jordan Lipford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Happy Home Church at 6941 Hwy 700, Ruffin, NC 27326.
