Claudia Belle Harrison Webb

Reidsville - Claudia Belle Harrison Webb, 89, of the Morehead Nursing Center, 205 E. Kings Hwy, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the nursing center.Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Vaughan officiating. The burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Webb was born in Greeneville, TN to the late Francis M. and Lillie Farnsworth Harrison. After graduating from college, with great courage and strength, she packed up and moved across the mountains to North Carolina to teach. Ironically she boarded with her future in-laws. She had a passion for teaching and after more than 35 years, she retired in 1982. She loved flowers and was always willing to share her knowledge, as well as her flower bulbs. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Elton Webb; her brothers, Wilber V. Harrison and Wade G. Harrison; and her sisters, Ruth H. Jones and Mary Lee H. Bowman.Mrs. Webb is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Cox and husband, Leon of Ruffin; her son, Leland Webb and wife, Deborah Hylton of Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Peter H. Webb, Bethany Webb Emkey and husband, Stephen, Jillianne C. Tate and husband, John, and Patricia L. Cox; great grandchildren, Trevor and Ethan Emkey, Holly and Dylan Tate; her sister, Frances H. Tuttle and husband, Warren of Reidsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 27 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at Phyllis and Leon's home, 2155 Worsham Mill Road in Ruffin.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wentworth Volunteer Fire Department, 8365 NC Hwy 87, Reidsville, NC 27320.
