Reidsville-Claudine Belcher Evans, 87, of 2670 Worsham Mill Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2012.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Bruce McBride officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Evans was born in Floyd County, VA to the John Quincy and Minnie Weddle Belcher. She was a homemaker and a longtime and faithful member of Happy Home Congregational Christian Church. She served on the flower committee and the stew committee for many years. She had a servant spirit and loved to spend time with family and friends. She was a life time learner starting with her love for school, reading and puzzles. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 66 years, George Lindsay Evans, her sisters, Laola Harris, Mae Underwood, Nora Harris, Treva Walker, Annie Harter and Manilla Davis; her brother, Glenn Belcher, Aubrey Belcher and Olen Belcher.Survivors include her daughters, Norma Evans Pruitt and husband, PD of Reidsville, Dale Evans Aldridge and husband, Sammy of Stoneville and Cindy Evans Finch and husband, Andy of Reidsville; grandchildren, Casey Pruitt, Corporal Daniel J. Aldridge, Elizabeth Aldridge and Abby Finch; great granddaughter, Raegan Davis; step grandson, Andy Aldridge; step granddaughter, Millie Pruitt; her sister, Vivian Weeks of Floyd, VA; special nephew, Mack Harris; caregiver, Alice Vernon; sister-in-law, Reva Belcher and several nieces, nephews and large extended family.
