Reidsville – Clyde Thomas “Tommy” Boone, Jr., 75, of 1839 Barnes Street, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ralph Clayton, Rev, David Surrett and Rev. Mike Jones officiating. The burial will follow in Camp Springs UMC cemetery.
Mr. Boone was a native of Alamance County, and was the son of the late Clyde Thomas Boone Sr. and the late Mary Farmer Boone. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Covington Wesleyan Church. Tommy worked for Cone Mills for several years and was proud to have worked as a police officer and then retired from Morrisette Paper Company. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to live life to the fullest. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Jonnie and Jimmy Boone.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Myrtle Boone of the home; sons, Jeff Boone and wife, Linda, Greg Boone and wife Tammy and Mark Boone and wife, Cheryl; daughters, Felicia Sorell, Nikki Primm and husband, John; step-daughters, Denise Young and Dawn Richardson and husband, Henry; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren..
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 18 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and other times at the home.
