Coleman Lee Wingate, 57, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Moses Cone - Green Valley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 11 ,2020 at Lively Stones Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Kent officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00pm. Coleman was born on March 31, 1963 in Salisbury, NC. After a few years, his family moved to Pelham, NC where he spent the rest of his childhood. He joined the Army in 1980 and spent a year in Germany serving his country. Growing up, his friends new him as “Colgate”; recently, everyone who knew him will remember him as “Big Time”. Coleman always enjoyed sports, playing Rummikub, spending time with his friends and will be remembered for his smile and upbeat personality. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his father, Coleman Taylor Wingate. Coleman is survived by his mother, Nellie Townsend; sister, Connie Perry and husband Ron Perry; brother, Gregory Wingate; and nephew, Michael Gibson. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lively Stones Baptist Church, 2347 Chandler Mill Road, Pelham NC 27311.
