Reidsville – Constance Rich Lee, 76, of 804 Poplar Street, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Annie Penn Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shannon Joseph officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lee was born in Rockingham County to the late the Rufus“Sug”Ashburn and Doris Allred Rich. She was a homemaker and a member of Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was one of the first sets of triplets born at Annie Penn Hospital in 1935. Her enjoyment in life included watching birds and squirrels, dancing, her Elvis Presley collection and her jewelry. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Erica Johnson; sisters, Carolyn Apple and Charlotte Benfield; son-in-law, David Young Smithey. Survivors include her husband, Fred Lee of the home; children, Gerald Lee and wife, Mary Ann, Wayne Lee, Sr. and wife, Nancy, Brian Lee and wife, Connie, Judy Smithey and Evelyn Pennell and husband, Steve; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; brothers, Bud Rich and wife, Ann and Gordon Rich and wife, Peggy; sister Mary Lib Burton and husband, Amos and special friend, Myrtle Miller. The family will see friends on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 7-9 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at 2790 Grooms Road. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Annie Penn Hospital for the love and care that was given to Mrs. Lee during her stay there.
