Curtis Wayne Mabe

Summerfield – Curtis Wayne Mabe, Sr., 62, of Minnie Lane passed away on January 3, 2011 at his home surround by his loved ones. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Mt Bethel Church with Rev. Kevin Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Glencoe United Methodist Church cemetery. Mr. Mabe was born on January 7, 1948 in Rockingham County to the late Noah Jackson and Minne Paschal Mabe. Curtis retired from Zarns with 35 years of service. He was a wonderful father and beloved husband who loved his family especially his grandchildren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Earl and Donald Lee Mabe. Curtis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy of the home; sons, Curtis Wayne Mabe, Jr. and wife Deanna, Dwayne Sam Mabe all of Summerfield; daughters, Pamela Lee Rice and husband, Richard of Summerfield, Penny Sue Mabe of Eden; grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Mabe, Brandon Michael Snow, Bryson Cole Mabe, Courtney Renee Thomas and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at 946 Minnie Lane.
