Reidsville - Curtis Dean Shaw, 69, of 7555 NC Hwy 87, died on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Annie Penn Hospital.
A graveside Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Shaw will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Greenview Cemetery with Vaughn Williams officiating.
Mr. Shaw was born on January 5, 1940 in Caswell County to the late Robert Paul and Ethel McKinney Shaw. As a young man he graduated from Cobb Memorial School. Later in life he retired from Lucent Technologies in 2007 after 48 years of service. Curtis was an avid bowler and Duke basketball fan. He also loved the NY Yankees and the Washington Redskins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half brother, Earl McKinney, half sisters, Gaynell Hodges and Billy King and step sister, Agnes Cook.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hudson Shaw of the home, sons, C. Daryl Shaw and wife, Debra, of Reidsville and Keith Shaw of Ruffin; one granddaughter, Darya Shaw and one great granddaughter, Daphney Shaw; step brother, Frank Shaw of Ruffin and half sister, Dot Hodges of Ruffin.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM and other times at the residence of his son, C. Daryl Shaw on 8415 Hwy 150 Reidsville.
