Curtis Lee Shelton Sr.

Curtis Lee Shelton, Sr., 86, passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2022, at Annie Penn Hospital in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00PM.

“Curt” was born on March 11, 1936, to the late Lemley and Stella Shelton in Rockingham County. Shortly after completing high school, he joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for 20 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed his retirement, working in garden, hunting, and fishing. More than anything he was proud to be a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ed Shelton and Donnie Shelton. He is survived by his sons, Curtis Shelton, Jr.; Kenny Shelton; Christopher Pendley and wife Terri; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Shelton; sister, Betty Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association - Western Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250 Charlotte, NC 28209.
