Daniel Kernodle

Reidsville-Mr. Daniel Rudd Kernodle, 79, of Reidsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 14th, 2015. Dan was born in Rockingham County on October 23rd, 1935 to the late Gurley and Annie Lucas Kernodle. He was a member of First Congregational Christian Church. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and retired from American Tobacco Company. Dan never met a stranger and loved to talk. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty one and one half years, Anne Kernodle; son, Charles Daniel Kernodle; one grandson, Ronald Blake, Jr.; two great-grandsons, Kobe and Kash Kernodle. Survivors include his children, Barbara Blake and husband, Ronnie of Ruffin; Patricia Cox and husband, Bart of Eden; Linda Bolden of Reidsville; Terry Kernodle of Eden; Betty King and husband, Ron of Reidsville; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at one o’clock on Friday, July 17th, 2015 at Wilkerson Funeral Home. Dr. John Marks and Pastor Mark Tolodziecki will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from six until eight o’clock at the funeral home and other times at the home.
