Ruffin - David Allen Knight, 78, of 763 Perkinson Road, died on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Annie Penn Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Jessup officiating. Interment will follow at Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.Mr. Knight was a native of Rockingham County and was the son of the late, Hugh and Ora Kate Dallas Knight. He was a tobacco farmer and was retired from Miller Brewery. He was a rugged individualist, passionate outdoorsman who loved sharing his gift of music with his family and friends. He was a faithful family man and especially loved his grandchildren. He was a member of Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Jessup Knight; Paul Knight, Clarence Knight, Mary Powell, William Knight, Carol Fritchman, Clifton Knight and Hugh Lee Knight, Jr.He is survived by his sons, Tony Knight and wife, Renae of Durham, Dean Knight and wife, Teresa of Stokesdale and Jeff Knight of Summerfield; grandchildren, Tori Zamora and husband, Jared, Kiefer and Noah Knight, Patrick Winn and John Winn; sisters, Sarah Dixon of Browns Summit and Becky Troxler of Browns Summit; father-in-law, Gurny Jessup of Madison and a large extended family.The family will be receiving friends Sunday, August 26 one hour prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be made to Hillsdale Primitive Baptist Church, C/O James Knight, 7640 Royster Road, Greensboro, NC 27455.
