David Max Sherwood, 73, passed away Tuesday November 15, 2016 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County, NC.
Max was born on April 29, 1943 in Toronto, Ohio to the late Clifford I. and Olive G. (Coulter) Sherwood. After graduating from Toronto High School class of 1961, he entered the Army and was stationed in Korea from 1962-1963. He lived in Columbus for a year or so after his discharge. He went to work at Weirton Steel as a pipe fitter where he retired to live in Myrtle Beach, SC. Dad loved working in his yard, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Toronto Red Knights, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty and his dog Duke!
Along with his parents, Max was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Silvis) Sherwood who passed away September 28th, 2014, and brothers: Ralph, Thomas and Kenneth Sherwood and his sister, Janet (Sherwood) Allen.
Surviving are his children: Kandice Lee (Sherwood) Drizake of Reidsville, NC and son David Michael Sherwood of Murals Inlet, SC; his grandsons, Nicolas H. Drizake and Kristofer M. Drizake of Reidsville, NC; sister, Mrs. James (Emily) Sestito of Clearwater, Fla., Paul Sherwood of Toronto, Ohio., and Mrs. John (Nancy) Bodrog of Toronto, Ohio.
