David Patrick Smith

David Patrick Smith, 59, passed away on July 31, 2023, at his home in Stokesdale.

A memorial service will be held at Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church, Sunday, August 6, at 3:00 PM.

David was born on October 7, 1963, in Millville, New Jersey where he lived before moving to Rockingham County in 1994. He worked for Yates Construction Company as a mechanic for several years and later retired from Gilbarco. David was a small engine mechanic and would always help family and neighbors with any small engine equipment in need of repair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Smith and Lillian Carter, and brother, Don Smith.

David is survived by his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Smith, wife Nancy; and Richard Smith. He also leaves behind his beloved black Lab, Candy.

David will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
