David Wayne Southard

David Wayne Southard, 55, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Brim officiating. David was born in Rockingham County and worked as a contractor most of his career. He was a meticulous and competent finished carpenter. David loved fishing, spending time at the beach and traveling. He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Southard. David is survived by his mother, Shirley Southard of the home; his sisters, Geneva Robertson and husband, Jarratt of Reidsville and Sandra Slawski of Wilmington, NC; his brother, Curtis Southard and wife, Tammy and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Reidsville Soup Kitchen, 121 Arlington St, Reidsville, NC 27320.
