Summerfield – Debra Jean Lovelace Porter, 46, of 155 Glencoe Church Road, died Tuesday, May
20, 2008 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Funeral services will be held
will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Glencoe United Methodist
Church with Rev. Daniel Gaddy officiating. The burial will follow in the church
cemetery.
Debra was born in Rockingham County. She was a graduate of Reidsville High School
in 1980 and also took classes at Rockingham
Community College in
early childhood education. She worked previously as an Early Childhood Educator
at Central School
for the Deaf for nine years and most recently served as a teacher’s assistant
for the Kindergarten class at Bethany
Elementary School for
three years. She was a member of Glencoe
United Methodist
Church. Debra truly
enjoyed yard sales and finding bargains. She was a loving wife, mother and
friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy Jean Lucas and brother,
Jimmy Lawrence Lovelace.
She is survived by her loving husband
of 25 years, Kirk Dell Porter of the home; daughters, Kacy Jean Porter and
Karlee Diana Porter, both of the home; father, Lofton Lee Lovelace and wife,
Linda of Reidsville; brother, Donald Lee Lovelace and wife, Tina;
Mother-in-law, Martha Murphy and husband, Ray; sister-in-law, Kimberly Porter
Cox and husband, Randall; nephews, Randall Cox, Jr., Greg Farris, Robbie Brame
and JR Brame; niece Krystal Cox Butler; and extended family and friends too
numerous to mention.
The family will receive friends, Friday,
May 23 at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and other times at the
home.
The Porter family would like to
express their sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to their many
friends, church family, Bethany
school staff and Hospice Home for the love and outpouring of support during
this difficult time.
