Reidsville – Dennis Franklyn Davis, 89, of 5 Golfview Drive in Maggie Valley, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2009 at Wilkerson Funeral home with Dr. Anthony Davis and Dr. Harold Venable officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church cemetery.Mr. Davis was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late George Francis and Betty Sue Evans Davis. He was the retired owner and operator of grocery stores in Fellsmere, FL, Cocoa, FL and Reidsville, NC. He was a faithful Christian man and was a member and Deacon of Gospel Road Baptist Church in Eden, NC. He loved singing gospel music, reading and telling stories. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marcine Tolley Davis; 3 sisters and 1 great grandson. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Hall of Maggie Valley, NC; sons, Dr. Anthony Davis and wife, Janice of Eden, NC and Francis Randolph Davis and wife, Carol of Rockledge, FL; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and other times at Dr. Anthony Davis’ home, 126 S. Hamilton St. in Eden.
