Dennis Pharisee Myrick

Reidsville: Dennis Pharisee Myrick, 98, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Carolina House of Reidsville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Covington Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ralph Clayton and Rev. David Surrett officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Mr. Myrick was born in Rockingham County on April 16, 1912 to the late Gray and Ellen Jones Myrick. He was a WWII veteran of the US Army and a retiree of The American Tobacco Company. As a life long member of Covington Wesleyan Church, a long time member of the church board, Wesleyan Man of the Year 1992-1993, and custodian for several years, Mr. Myrick delighted in serving the Lord. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Darrell Myrick and an infant son Thurman Myrick; great granddaughter, Lindsey Hudson; three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Juanita Myrick; son, Leon Myrick and wife, Doris; daughter, Pat McGee and husband, Alfred; daughter-in-law, Doris Walker Myrick; grandchildren, Joey Myrick and wife, Susan, Sharon Loftis and husband, Mark, Keith Myrick, Donna Copeland and husband, Mike, Bronson McGee, Kurt McGee; great grandchildren, Jordan Hudson, Courtney Myrick, Adam Myrick, Tanner Myrick, Cole’t Wagner, Hanna Copeland, Mary Grace Copeland, Mason Wagner; great great granddaughter, Kandyce Hudson; sister, Beatrice McNeally. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Covington Wesleyan Church and other times at Leon’s home, 3051 NC 14. The family would like to thank the staff of Carolina House, the staff of Annie Penn Hospital and Liberty Hospice of Alamance County for the loving care and concern given to Mr. Myrick. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Covington Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 3218 Vance Street Ext., Reidsville, NC 27320.
