Diane Mary Charette Dumonski

Diane Mary (Charette) Dumonski died peacefully on March 31, 2023 in Greensboro, NC, with her sons at her side.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral home at 82 Fairview Ave. in Naugatuck, CT. Inurnment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, CT. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00am-10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Diane was born in Waterbury, CT on May 5, 1942 to the late Marion (Mobilio, Charette) Van Lew and the late Murio (Guy) Charette. She was the widow of the late Leonard J. Dumonski. Diane moved to North Carolina in 2017 to be near her grandchildren. Diane graduated from Naugatuck High School class of 1960, and worked in various capacities, ranging from Rita’s Bakery to Southbury Training School, but the job she unquestionably loved the most and dedicated her entire life to, was being a mother. She enjoyed car rides, old movies, conversations, babies, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Diane is preceded in death by her brother Robert Van Lew.

Diane is survived by her sons, Kevin Dumonski and wife Jessica of Thomaston, CT, and Dr. Mark Dumonski and wife Wendy of Summerfield, NC, and brother Gary Charette and wife Denise of Cheshire, CT, and grandchildren Alexa, Brianna, and Zachary of Summerfield, NC, in addition to her sisters Tracy Van Lew of Florida, and Patrice Charette of Waterbury, CT, in addition to several nieces and nephews and dear friends in Connecticut and North Carolina.
