Dixie Marie Overby Davis

Dixie Marie Overby Davis, 83, of Reidsville, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Jacob’s Creek Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Friday, July 6, 2018 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Heffner officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Dixie was born in Rockingham County to the late Jack and Clara Belle Kennon Overby. She was a devoted member of Lawsonville Road Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Sunshine Ladies. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Davis; son, Steve Davis; brothers Frank and Gene Overby; sisters, Judy Walker, Virginia Lowdermilk and Mary Elizabeth Parker. She is survived by her son, Anthony L. Davis, Sr.; grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Tony “T.J.” Davis, Jr., Adam Davis, Steven Davis, Jr., Roxann Davis Garrett, Erika Davis and Jon Davis; numberous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Paulette Davis. The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
