Donald Wayne Myers

Pelham - Donald Wayne Myers, 67 of 2558 Chandler Mill Road passed away on December 13, 2011 surround by his loving family.Funeral service will be held Friday, December 16 at 11:00 AM at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Myers and Rev. Billy Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Lively Stones Baptist Church cemetery with full military rites. Mr. Myers was born on September 28, 1944 to the late Ryland David and Margaret Hendricks Myers. He served in the US Marine Corps. He was a member of American Legion #1097 in Danville. Donald loved to tell jokes, dance, gardening with along he enjoyed watch birds. He was a loving husband, father, brother and most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his bother, Ryland Anderson Myers.He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Myers of the home; Tammy Bray Leonard and husband, Roger, Donna M. Tucker, Melissa M Hardy and husband, C.T. all of Pelham; grandchildren, Eric Myers, Jessica Hardy, Stephen and Diamond Tucker, Tiffany Tucker and Todd; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Saunders and Monica Murphy; brothers, Franklin Myers and wife, Sandra of Danville, VA, Ricky Myers and wife Darlene, Tony Myers and Willie Myers all of Pelham; sisters, Jeanette Neely and Patricia Cook and husband, Bill both of Yanceyville; special friends, Jonathan Bennett, Deborah Anderson and Rose Paxton and special companions, Cabbitt the cat and Enky the dog.A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends other times at the residence.Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society; P.O.
