Donnie Levi Terrell, Sr.

Donnie Levi Terrell, born on August 26, 1942, to Levi Allen and Myrtle Rickman Terrell, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025 at the age of 82.

Donnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Darlene; daughters Donna Vickers and Johanna Gibson; stepson Rudolph Baker; stepdaughter Amanda Petrich; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will always carry his memory in their hearts.

Donnie graduated from Haw River High School. He also attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he completed various classes which helped him further his 26-year career in the insurance business. He lived a life of service to others including many years working as an Emergency Medical Technician and a volunteer fire fighter for the Town of Bogue Inlet.

Donnie touched many lives with his hard work, dedication and love. He had a talent for gardening and could grow any flower with ease, bringing beauty to his surroundings. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach, and he was happiest when working with his hands, whether on projects around the house or crafting something for those he cared about.

Donnie's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorie Terrell; son, Donnie Terrell Jr.; and siblings James Terrell, Evelyn Garner, Mildred McPherson, Lydia Crawford, and Annie Leigh Terrell.
