Doris Cassada Cox

Doris Cassada Cox, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Rockingham County Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of Bobbette and Benny, 242 Plantation Circle. Doris was born in Rockingham County on April 27, 1936 to the late Warren Montique and Irene Taylor Cassada and was a retiree of Macfield. She was a beloved mother and MeMother to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris was an avid reader, knitter and loved gardening. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar T. Cox; brother, Bernard L. Cassada and sister, Christine C. Hill. Survivors include her daughter: Monisa “Bobbette” Williams Cox and husband, Benny of Reidsville; son, Ricky Burke of Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Alex Cox and wife, Rachel and Brooks Cox; great grandchildren, Madilyn Taylor Cox, Brinley Joy Cox and Asher Bradley Cox and beloved nieces and nephew.
